Where are you based?

We are based in Manchester, however as virtual bookkeepers we are able work with clients based anywhere in the UK.

 

Can I visit you in person?

All services are provided to you remotely. We will have regular meetings on Zoom.

 

How regularly will we meet if I hire you as my bookkeeper?

We prefer to be in touch with clients at least once a month but we can discuss this on signing up.

 

Can I message you on Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger?

Of course. We keep in touch with clients via all methods of communication.

 

Can I keep my accounts in a spreadsheet?

We only work with accounting software (Xero and QuickBooks) however we will be happy to manage the transition from spreadsheets for you.


Do you set up accounting software?

Yes. If you don’t currently have accounting software we will manage the whole process for you.

 

Is there a bookkeeping app I can use?

Xero and QuickBooks both have an app you can use to keep upto date with your accounts. We also work with AutoEntry and Hubdoc which are both easy to use apps for uploading photos of your receipts.

 

What's the best way to track my mileage?

There are various apps available that can track mileage automatically. We will be happy to advise you on this.

 

What qualifications do you have?

Laura is an AAT qualified bookkeeper.

 

How much experience do you have?

Laura has worked in accounts and finance for 12 years.

 

Which professional body regulates you as a bookkeeper?

We are licensed and regulated by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.

 

Do you have professional indemnity insurance?

Yes – we are insured with Qdos for upto £250,000.

 

What measures do you take to keep my data secure?

All client data and files are stored securely with encryption and backed up regularly.

 

Are you registered with the Information Commissioner's Office for Data Protection?

Yes.

 

What happens next if I decide to start working with you?

Following your introductory call you will be required to sign a letter of engagement and provide two forms of ID. Once formalities are complete we will start the onboarding process where we ensure everything is in place for us to start working together.

 

Why do I need to provide ID?

To comply with the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 we require certain information to set up your file before we can start supporting your business, and with this in mind ask that you provide two forms of identification.

 

Will I get a monthly report?

Ideally we will be in touch at least once a month and we can provide management reports to suit your requirements.

 

I haven't done any bookkeeping yet this financial year, is that a problem?

Not at all. We can do the catch up work for you. This will be charged at an hourly rate which will be discussed during your introductory call.

 

How do I share my paperwork with you?

We use secure online file storage for sharing documents.

 

How do I pay?

Payments are collected automatically via GoCardless after you have received your monthly invoice.
